Outdoor Transparent LED Display Side-Emitting
Turn glass into media without sacrificing daylight. ChinaLEDScreens’ side-emitting transparent LED delivers 85–90% transparency, min 3.91 mm pixel pitch, ~10 kg/m² light weight, quick front service, and curvable modules—perfect for curtain walls, shop windows, elevators, and creative façades.
Product introduction
What it is
A purpose-built Side-Emitting Outdoor Transparent LED Display that lets you tell big stories on glass while interiors stay bright and open. LEDs are mounted sideways on ultra-slim louvers, so light passes through the gaps and your content appears to “float” on the façade—clean, modern, and visible from long range.
Why it works on real buildings
Ultra-high transparency: up to 90% (model-dependent), keeping natural light and clear sightlines.
Fine pixel pitch: as small as P3.91-7.8 for closer viewing; P7.8 / P10.42 / P15.625 for large façades.
Curvable & special-shape friendly: build arcs, rings, sky domes, and irregular glass with consistent lines.
Low structural dependence: slim aluminum profile reduces keel/steelwork, cutting load and project cost.
Fast install & easy maintenance: modular 1000×500 mm panels with front access simplify service.
Outdoor-ready performance: high brightness, high refresh, stable color and motion in sun or rain cover.*
*Outdoor package and weatherproofing are configured per project environment.
How it looks
Against a transparent background, videos and graphics seem suspended in air. By day it’s elegant and readable; by night it becomes a signature media façade—without turning your building into a solid wall.

FAQs
1) What is a “side-emitting” outdoor transparent LED display, and why does it look different on glass?
A side-emitting transparent LED mounts the LEDs sideways on slim louvers/strips, so most ambient light and sightlines pass through the gaps while the emitted light forms the image. Visually, it creates a “floating content” effect on the façade—especially clean for glass curtain walls and modern architecture where you don’t want a heavy cabinet look.
2) How transparent is it, and will it keep interiors bright?
This model is positioned as ultra-high transparency, listed as ≥85% up to ~90% (model-dependent)—specifically to preserve daylight and clear sightlines for glass façades, retail windows, and similar spaces where interior openness matters.
3) What pixel pitches are available, and how do you choose the right one?
The page lists these main pitch options: P3.91–7.8 / P7.8 / P10.42 / P15.625. Practical selection logic:
- P3.91–7.8: better detail for closer viewing (premium retail zones, nearer streets).
- P7.8 / P10.42: a strong “balanced” choice for most mid-to-large curtain wall projects.
- P15.625: best for very large façades and long viewing distances where structure, weight, and cost efficiency dominate.
It also notes a minimum viewing distance ≥ 5 m and a wide 140° H / 140° V viewing angle.
4) Is it good for video and camera shooting (flicker/banding)?
For motion quality, the spec highlights 16-bit grayscale, 60 fps frame rate, and refresh rate >1920 Hz (up to 3840 Hz) depending on the configuration. In practice, higher refresh plus stable grayscale helps reduce visible flicker and improves smoothness for both human viewing and common camera capture scenarios.
5) What are the module size, weight, and power considerations for façade engineering?
It’s built around 1000 × 500 mm modular panels, with weight listed at about ~10 kg/m², using an aluminum profile structure. Power is shown as model-dependent, with a reference point of ~689 W/m² max / ~235 W/m² average (example configuration), and a wide input range of AC 86–264V / 60 Hz—useful for international projects.
6) Is it truly “outdoor”—what about weather exposure, temperature range, and maintenance access?
Two important points are emphasized:
- It supports front access / quick front service and modular panels, which is critical for keeping façade uptime high and reducing maintenance labor.
- Weatherproofing is indicated as environment-dependent, and the reference spec table shows IP30 in the base configuration. Practically, that means if your project has direct rain exposure, you should plan a project-specific outdoor protection solution (or select a higher-IP outdoor model) rather than assuming the standard configuration is rainproof. Operating conditions listed include -20°C to +60°C (with an alternate line showing -40°C to +60°C) and 10–85% RH.
